The AMIAT S.p.A. facility in Volpiano specializes in the collection and treatment of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), processing approximately 22,000 tons annually. The plant is authorized under the Integrated Environmental Authorization (AIA) DD140 of 19/01/2021 and holds integrated Quality, Environment, and Safety certifications (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001).

The facility is equipped to handle WEEE from both household and industrial sources, focusing on the following material groups:
Ferrous Metals: Iron and steel components are recovered from various appliances.
Non-Ferrous Metals: Materials such as aluminum and copper are extracted, particularly from cables and electronic parts.
Precious Metals: Elements like gold, silver, and palladium are retrieved from circuit boards and other electronic components.
Plastics: Various types of polymers are separated and processed for recycling.
Glass: Sourced mainly from screens and monitors.
Hazardous Substances: The facility safely removes and manages hazardous materials, including mercury and lead, in compliance with environmental regulations.
